Are You Gathering your OCC Supplies?
Send Hope in a Shoebox: Join the Mission with Operation Christmas Child Each year, Operation Christmas Child (OCC), a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse, invites people around the world to pack shoeboxes filled with toys, hygiene items, and school supplies. These simple gifts are delivered to children in need across the globe—and each box is an opportunity to share God’s love and the Good News of Jesus Christ. Whether you're packing one box or hosting a packing party with your church or community group, your participation can make an eternal difference.
If you would like to gather supplies and join our packing party in November, let us know and we can mail/email a specific list of supplies that we are gathering along with the particular month for each category item.
Our plan is to pack 100 boxes!
You are always welcome to pack your own box and get it to us for shipping.
What to Pack in Your Shoebox
Start by choosing whether your box is for a boy or girl, and select an age range: 2–4, 5–9, or 10–14. Then fill it with gifts that are new, fun, and useful:
Gift Suggestions
- Toys: Small ball or deflated ball (with pump), doll, stuffed animal, jump rope, yo-yo, harmonica, puzzles, toy cars,
- Misc: Flashlights (with batteries), sewing kits, small tools
- School Supplies: Pencils, pens, crayons, markers, notebooks, paper, solar calculators, rulers
- Hygiene Items: Toothbrush and cover, comb, washcloth
- Accessories: T-shirts, socks, hats, hair clips, sunglasses, watches, small bags
- Personal Touch: A note of encouragement, photo of you or your family, or a simple drawing
Do’s and Don’ts
✅ Do:
- Pray over your box before sending it.
- Include a letter or card—children often cherish these most.
- Consider adding a $10 donation online to cover shipping and tracking.
- Use a standard-size shoebox or a preprinted OCC box.
❌ Don’t:
- Don’t include, soap, candy, gum, or food (customs restrictions).
- No toothpaste, liquids, lotions, or other items that could leak or spoil.
- Avoid war-related toys (soldiers, guns, knives, etc.).
- Don’t pack used or damaged items.
Get Involved
Packing a shoebox is easy, impactful, and fun for all ages. You can build a box online or drop it off during National Collection Week in November at a local OCC drop-off site.One box. One child.
