"The God Who Finishes What He Starts"

Scripture:

"For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus."— Philippians 1:6 (NASB95)

Devotion:

Have you ever started something strong — a project, a resolution, a goal — but lost momentum halfway through? We all have. Life gets messy, distractions come, and we wonder if we’ll ever finish what we’ve begun.

But Paul reminds us in Philippians 1:6 that God isn’t like us. What He starts, He finishes. And that includes you.

God began a good work in your heart — a work of salvation, transformation, and purpose. And even on the days when you feel stuck, slow, or spiritually dry, He is still working.

You may not see the full picture yet. You may only see unfinished chapters. But God sees the whole story. And He’s not finished writing it.

So today, take courage: you are a work in progress, but you are in the hands of a perfect God.

Prayer:

"Father, thank You that You never give up on me. When I feel incomplete or discouraged, remind me that You are still working. I trust that You will finish what You’ve started in my life. Help me to walk faithfully, even in the waiting. In Jesus’ name, Amen."
