When God Feels Silent
There are moments in life when heaven feels quiet. You pray, but there’s no immediate answer. You search the Word, but nothing leaps off the page. You go to church, but your heart still feels heavy.
Even David, the man after God’s own heart, felt this way. He cried out in Psalm 13:1—“How long, O Lord? Will You forget me forever? How long will You hide Your face from me?” But just a few verses later, David shifts his focus:
“But I have trusted in Your lovingkindness; my heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.” (Psalm 13:5)
Here’s the truth: God’s silence is not God’s absence. He may be quiet, but He’s never gone. He’s working behind the scenes, developing your faith, strengthening your endurance, and preparing the answer in His perfect timing.
Encouragement for Today:
If you're in a season of silence, don’t give up. Keep praying. Keep trusting. Keep walking. Even in the silence, God is still speaking—just not always in the ways we expect.
Prayer:
“Lord, when I can’t hear You, help me trust that You’re still near. Strengthen my heart to keep believing when I feel nothing. Teach me to walk by faith, not by feelings. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
